How do I get a password
and activate my account?
To activate your account and obtain a
password, please fill out the
ILLiad Account Request Form.
Once your account is complete and ready to use, you will be contacted by a
member of the Interlibrary Loan Lending Department with a username and password.
If you have any questions, or if you filled out the form and did not hear from
us within three (3) working days, please contact
us.
Please note that we no longer accept fax,
email or phone requests. All non-OCLC requests should be placed using
your ILLiad account.

General
Policies: We will
lend master’s theses and doctoral
dissertations if a circulating copy is
available.
We will
lend microfiche and six reels
of microfilm reels at a time.
We will
fax up to 30 pages within the United
States, and up to 20 pages
internationally.

Turnaround
time: Average
turnaround time for requests is three
working days. Exceptions are items
which are held at other Columbia campus
locations, such as the Music Library,
the Business Library, the South
Caroliniana Library or our off-site
storage facility. These items may
take two to three extra working days to
retrieve.

Rush orders: Please
contact
us directly if you have a Rush request.

Loans:
Our loan period is four weeks with one
two-week renewal
allowed.

Fees: We
charge $15 for domestic loans
and photocopies. We charge $30 for international
requests. We will invoice with the
item. We do not charge other South
Carolina academic institutions, or
libraries with which we have reciprocal
agreements.

The

Audiovisual material - DVDs, VHS tapes

Browsing Collection
▪
Reference Collection
▪ Rare Books/Special Collections
items
▪ Maps
▪ Juvenile Collection books,
except to other University of South
Carolina campuses
▪ Educational Films may be loaned
only with approval from the Manager of the
Educational Films Collection. At
this time, we loan items from this
collection only to other USC campus
libraries, South Carolina public
colleges and universities, South
Carolina county libraries, and libraries
in the Kudzu consortium.
